The Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Theology of the Universidad Católica de Manizales - UCM - was formally created by Agreement of the Superior Council number 011 of November 24, 2014, as a response to the social challenges where the Catholic University has the task of studying contemporary problems and develop projects that concretize the religious and ethical values of a Christian vision of man. It is a Faculty that is nourished by the charism of the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin (religious community that governs the institution) and that brings to life the institutional profile of contributing to social and cultural transformation, supported by principles of participation and co-responsibility, with quality criteria in the international context.
It is formed by an interdisciplinary team that, through the fields of knowledge of advertising, communication, theology, memory, peace and Christian humanism; transversalizes the academic, research, extension and social projection processes in the Institution, with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, interculturality and social responsibility.
