Graduate Profile
As a graduate of the Specialization in Ergonomics of the Universidad Católica de Manizales you will have the ability to analyze and diagnose the relationship with the work and social environment in relation to ergonomic conditions and measure the ergonomic determinants that allow decision making from universal design and innovation.
As a UCM specialist you will have the skills to perform in different work scenarios that include the improvement of production processes and the reduction of time, also, you will be able to develop inputs to improve the welfare and quality of life of communities by enhancing the human and physical resources and promote the environment to reduce changes in the health of employees against diseases of the musculoskeletal system and occupational accidents.
Areas in which you can work:
- Creation of a company for the assessment of the conditions of ergonomic determinants, in the improvement of production processes and in the reduction of effective time.
- Analysis, adjustment and follow-up of ergonomic conditions in organizations and social spaces, taking into account their processes, equipment and tools for the development of their activities.
- Research and development of new products that society requires and that allow improving the welfare and quality of life of a region or community where the physical and cognitive demand are factors considered for the creation of new elements, and thus achieve the potential of human and physical resources.
- Contemplate design and distribution actions in the workstations, taking into account the requirements of the standard and the physical, environmental and cognitive ergonomic conditions, which favor the work environment and minimize possible alterations in the health of employees, diseases of the musculoskeletal system and occupational accidents.
Social contribution of the program
Due to the comprehensive training and social approach of UCM, the specialist in Ergonomics contributes to the analysis and diagnosis of the different scenarios of action in labor and social role, as well as in the design of projects that develop management systems in ergonomics, where the characteristics are based on the analysis of ergonomic determinants based on the principles of inclusion.
The Specialization in Ergonomics also seeks the transformation of the person, enhancing their ability to think reflectively, solve problems assertively, recognize the other from its uniqueness and develop their creative capacity, without neglecting its inclusive look.
