As an Environmental Engineering graduate from UCM, you will have the skills to work in the public and private sectors. You will have the ability to lead projects for the implementation of environmental systems, manage technology and science-based business processes, participate in interdisciplinary teams and international networks, develop and apply science and technology policies, among others. As an environmental engineer you will be able to diagnose and propose solutions to environmental problems, design and implement systems for the biotechnological development of wastewater and manage air and soil decontamination plans.
As a UCM graduate you acquire a humanistic, scientific and Christian vision in the approach to environmental problems, managing to design solutions that have a sustainable development and a social component.
Areas in which you can work:
- Design and implementation of biotechnological systems for wastewater treatment, air and soil decontamination, risk management projects, integrated solid waste management systems and environmental management and cleaner production systems.
- Design, construction and operation of wastewater treatment systems, water treatment plants and aqueducts.
- Participation, development and implementation of environmental land use, land use, natural resource exploitation and waste management plans to reduce the impact on human health and the environment at the municipal, departmental and national levels.
- Environmental auditing and consulting.
- Diagnosis and environmental impact studies at urban, rural, industrial, commercial, agricultural, mining, energy and other levels.
- Watershed conservation.
- Implementation of environmental quality standards.
- Development of environmental education programs.
Internships
Upon completion of all your courses in the Environmental Engineering program, you will have tools and a broad knowledge of the environmental reality. You will be able to identify, diagnose and design processes that help sustainable development. For this reason, as a student you will begin a process of internships in organizations of the productive or industrial sector, which you will carry out during an academic period in which you will strengthen all the knowledge and learning you acquired during your studies.
