Graduate Profile

As a graduate of the Master's program in Agroindustrial Microbiology, you will be able to generate new alternatives for the application of biotechnological processes, understand and enhance the main procedures of companies in the sector and generate conceptual development on the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of microorganisms of agroindustrial importance. You will be able to contribute to the technical and technological improvement of the agroindustry, which will strengthen the productivity and competitiveness of biotechnology-based companies.

As a UCM master's degree holder, you will have the competencies to propose solutions to problems in the agroindustrial sector, carrying out analyses and diagnoses with ethical, environmental, political and economic perspectives in the application of Agroindustrial Microbiology. The comprehensive UCM training will allow you to critically confront the history, development and perspective of the discipline, and you will be able to communicate and argue your knowledge, methods and applications in the agroindustrial sector with a scientific and interdisciplinary perspective.

  1. Improvement and development of processes and technologies in agroindustrial companies based on the use of microorganisms.
  2. Formulation and execution of agroindustrial microbiology projects carried out by research, development and innovation centers.
  3. Advice to governmental, sectorial and social organizations in the development of business and productive projects supported by the use of microorganisms.
  4. In the academic sector for the training of professionals in this field from research development, extension and qualified teaching.

Social contribution of the program

The Master's Degree in Agroindustrial Microbiology with the support of the Direction of Social Projection and the research processes developed in the groups and lines articulated to it, contribute to the development and application of knowledge in the field of agroindustry, seeking to provide solutions to problems through the transfer of knowledge, technology, consulting and advice to small and medium enterprises at local and regional level in the agricultural, livestock and food sectors whose problems in production, quality control, costs and technology are addressed from the area of microbiology and biotechnology.

The research of the GIBI and INDETSA groups and the impact of our graduates on the environment contribute to the sustainable and competitive development of companies, which translates into improvements in the employability and quality of life of people and society.
