Graduate Profile
El Técnico Profesional en Operación de Empresas Turísticas posee formación integral, principios éticos, compromiso con el cuidado de la naturaleza y de las tradiciones; conocimientos y capacidades que le permiten operar empresas, prestar servicios y formular proyectos orientados a la conservación y aprovechamiento de los atractivos turísticos de un territorio para promover el desarrollo social y económico de las comunidades.
El graduado del programa Técnico Profesional en Operación de Empresas Turísticas podrá desempeñarse en cargos operativos que exijan un alto nivel de cumplimiento de indicadores de calidad en la operación de empresas y el servicio, además de contar con habilidades y destrezas únicas, certificadas por la UCM, que contemplan todas las áreas del conocimiento socio-humanísticas; delimitando así, el campo de acción en la industria y asegurando el cumplimiento de objetivos básicos de las compañías turísticas.
El graduado de la UCM del programa “Técnico Profesional en Operación de Empresas Turísticas” cuenta con las siguientes capacidades:
- Capacidad para desarrollar procesos operativos que dinamizan la actividad económica, en empresas prestadoras de servicios turísticos.
- Capacidad para operar servicios turísticos a partir del potencial que tienen los destinos desde las manifestaciones culturales, los recursos naturales y el patrimonio material del territorio.
- Capacidad para formular proyectos que promuevan el desarrollo turístico, la conservación del medio ambiente, los bienes y valores de la cultura.

- Governmental and state entities that support the development of the tourism industry.
- Private entities whose mission is focused on the administration, management and operation of tourism services such as hotels, restaurants, natural parks, travel agencies, nature reserves, specialized guide companies, event operators, among others.
- Tourism and educational consulting companies, focused on the provision of outdoor recreational services.
- Foundations, ONG's and non-profit companies that encourage social and cultural tourism participation.
- Companies providing consulting services in the operation, administration, management, design and implementation of specialized integrated tourism programs.
- Multinational tourism and economic promotion agencies and companies.
- Private projects of natural and legal persons in the process of opening in the tourism industry.
Social contribution of the program
Tourism is a dynamic activity of multiple economic, cultural and social variables, which generates and develops great benefits in the regions where tourism markets are implemented based on socio-environmental responsibility. The program, Technician in Operation of Tourist Services, generates social impact through the formation of trained and qualified human talent to perform functions that contribute to the qualification of services in the tourist activity and, managing the integral management of good business practices and the generation of added value as a legacy of UCM to its graduates.
Currently, UCM's Tourism Services Operation Technician program intervenes, supports and promotes the responsible management of tangible and intangible resources through the following social objectives:
- Contribution to local development through development projects and cultural immersion.
- Training and labor strengthening of entities and communities belonging to the tourism industry.
- Provision, protection and use of the Coffee Cultural Landscape (PCC) declaration granted by UNESCO as a source of tourism development in the regions.
- Formation of socially responsible citizens.
